Girls Weekend

Quinn's mom was so nice and invited all the ladies in the family for a girls weekend in Park City. We had a lot of fun. We went to dinner and a movie and then stayed up till one in the morning talking. The next day we went shopping at the outlets. It was so nice to be with just the ladies and to have the time to catch up. Thanks for a great weekend ladies!

The Scoot Scoot!

I have desperately wanted a Scooter since I was 19 and fell even more in love with them in Europe. So one night while a was studying at the library a friend of mine was looking at Craigslist on the computer next to me I asked him to find a killer deal on a scooter for me, well about ten minutes later he found this beautiful scooter that had just been posted. I called immediately and we bought it the next day! I am so excited! It has been such a blast! I have even gone on a solo ride, (Granted it did break down on me, about an hour after this picture was taken, but it was so fun) Quinn and I love to ride it everywhere! It will be so fun this summer.

The paradise is coming together!

This flower has started to spring up and I have no recollection of planting it, but its so gorgeous!

So when Quinn and I were in the market to buy a house we were so excited to enter that stage of life that we were a little lax on our standards, don't get me wrong, I adore our house, but the yard was a little bit (or a lot a bit) lacking. When we moved in, the house sat on a dirt field filled with weeds. It was horrible! Our back yard had a pyracantha bush that was literally fifty feet long and twenty feet thick. It was thorny and ugly and just bad news. (thanks to those that we guilted into helping us rip that monster out, I know some of you still have scars!) But this did not deter Quinn. He could envision his "paradise". Well three years later we are on our way! I am so Proud of Quinn! He really has worked so hard on the house. He put in a sprinkling system, with some help from a neighbor and his dad, which was incredibly hard work in the middle of a hot summer. He dug the trenches, got the fixtures, the wiring, everything. Then he put down truck load after truck load of manure to make sure the sod took. Then he laid sod and seed until we actually could say we had a Lawn. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures, it was so gross. We added a new Vinyl fence, thanks to a chain link climbing, little black dog. Also we painted our house, it was pink brick before, and I have been told by many people that they hate the "black", but I like it. Yes, it is quite a bit darker than I planned, it was suppose to be a nice charcoal color but it did go a bit blackish (the picture makes it looks worse than it is) but by the time Quinn and I had taped up all the windows and spent Hours and Hours painting I wasn't about to change it. This spring has been so nice to not be embarrassed of our yard, and my tulips came up amazingly! They are my favorite flower and they are gorgeous! So all that is left is a front walk way and a little tweaking here and there and the paradise will be complete! Good job Quinn!

This past basketball season Quinn and some childhood buddies all went in on a pair of Jazz season tickets and split them up between them. We've had fun with these "built in date nights" as Ty calls them. ( really I think that is just a clever excuse to buy the tickets ) Quinn is still trying desperately to make me a sports fan, and I really have been trying. Unfortunately the joke is that I am more interested in the Bears antics and the time out games rather than the actual game, but I am slowly starting to get my interest peaked. Until next season.

This weekend we went out with my great friend Anya and her boyfriend Chad. As close as Anya and I are we never seem to be able to get our schedules in sync to see each other in person that much, so I was thrilled when we actually had the opportunity to get together. It just reminded me how lucky I am to have such an amazing and true friend. Anya and I met in eleventh grade astronomy class and have been close ever since. She has always been there for me, through all of our "stories" and all of the trials and joys that come in life. She has been such a true friend, which I think is very rare in this life. Thanks Anya for always making me laugh and being my biggest support! You're my soul mate! (a little inside joke) PS I'm very jealous you are going to Britney Spears without me.

This weekend Ann had the great idea to go Urban Spelunking. Which really means crawling through an illegal water drain under ground. Being slightly nervous in small areas and extremely afraid of spiders I was not that excited to undertake this great adventure, but everyone is determined to make me less girlie so I thought I would give it a try. We jumped the fence and started down the hole, everything was going great until we got to a part where the mud and water had settled leaving a teeny tiny opening that you would have to get on your stomach to crawl through. As we debated if we could make it through the opening some one started to point out the hundreds of dead spiders stuck on the walls. This is where I made my exit! But the rest of the group crawled on their bellies through mud, water, and who knows what to continue on their journey. Thankfully they made it out alive and had a great time.

Lily Jo

Our Niece Lily Jo got baptized this weekend by her father Joe. It was such a beautiful meeting and we are so proud of Lily Jo! She has the sweetest little spirit and we are lucky to be her Aunt and Uncle.
