Last weekend we went on a Scooter trip with the
Quists and the
Kofeds down to St.George. We had so much fun! Although, you may have noticed that our scooter is absent, it broke down (again, not such a great deal anymore) and wasn't back from the shop yet (don't ever go to
eco moto, long story, but just don't!) so Tyler was nice enough to let us use his
Honda trail 110 that he inherited from his grandpa. I must admit I thought that I was going to die on that machine, not because of the motorcycle but because Quinn was learning to shift, but it was a great substitute. Thanks Ty! We had such a great time, it was a bit of a farewell to Ann and Ian since they bought a house and are moving out of the neighborhood, which we are so sad about. But at least we have the scooter club to keep us in touch! We scooted all around Dixie, which is so
gorgeous! We ate a ton of great food, and had a hilarious
synchronized swimming contest, which Quinn and I won, although to be fair we have had some practice in that area. We learned a lot about
scootering like, when wind and dirt mix on a scooter it hurts, Daphne discovered the joy of birds flying over head, the shear fear of off
roading scootering, and the sore muscles of just sitting there. I also learned on the trip that I literally really do drool over diamonds, that we didn't talk to Carl enough, that cotton candy ice cream is still my absolute favorite, that bright pink neon scooter sweatshirts can still be seen in the dark, that Quinn tends to get cranky when he can't start the kick start, that a cheap pedicure really isn't all that great, I love my hooter scootie, your face is a joke! and that we have great friends. Thanks for the fun weekend!

I have desperately wanted a Scooter since I was 19 and fell even more in love with them in Europe. So one night while a was studying at the library a friend of mine was looking at Craigslist on the computer next to me I asked him to find a killer deal on a scooter for me, well about ten minutes later he found this beautiful scooter that had just been posted. I called immediately and we bought it the next day! I am so excited! It has been such a blast! I have even gone on a solo ride, (Granted it did break down on me, about an hour after this picture was taken, but it was so fun) Quinn and I love to ride it everywhere! It will be so fun this summer.
So when Quinn and I were in the market to buy a house we were so excited to enter that stage of life that we were a little lax on our standards, don't get me wrong, I adore our house, but the yard was a little bit (or a lot a bit) lacking. When we moved in, the house sat on a dirt field filled with weeds. It was horrible! Our back yard had a pyracantha bush that was literally fifty feet long and twenty feet thick. It was thorny and ugly and just bad news. (thanks to those that we guilted into helping us rip that monster out, I know some of you still have scars!) But this did not deter Quinn. He could envision his "paradise". Well three years later we are on our way! I am so Proud of Quinn! He really has worked so hard on the house. He put in a sprinkling system, with some help from a neighbor and his dad, which was incredibly hard work in the middle of a hot summer. He dug the trenches, got the fixtures, the wiring, everything. Then he put down truck load after truck load of manure to make sure the sod took. Then he laid sod and seed until we actually could say we had a Lawn. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures, it was so gross. We added a new Vinyl fence, thanks to a chain link climbing, little black dog. Also we painted our house, it was pink brick before, and I have been told by many people that they hate the "black", but I like it. Yes, it is quite a bit darker than I planned, it was suppose to be a nice charcoal color but it did go a bit blackish (the picture makes it looks worse than it is) but by the time Quinn and I had taped up all the windows and spent Hours and Hours painting I wasn't about to change it. This spring has been so nice to not be embarrassed of our yard, and my tulips came up amazingly! They are my favorite flower and they are gorgeous! So all that is left is a front walk way and a little tweaking here and there and the paradise will be complete! Good job Quinn!
