favorite color?

Christmas is such a great time to find toys for the little miss. I got these bows and put Velcro on the back so they can go on her board. Yesterday she was interested in the bright pink bow, I kept moving it around on the board to see if she would still go for it and she did! I guess she is a girlie girl deep down.

Enjoying the tulips.....

This week I was reminded why I have the great husband that I do. I have been feeling a bit panicked lately about getting going on adding to our family. I would rather not have a period of time where I am no longer a mother. All options of how to get some more little spirits in our home are going to take a while and so I feel like we need to start some process, whatever that may be. The dear researchers in the UK are just sitting on that vital information of where the Vicci gene is and will not release it till they publish and so we can't, at this point, start on invitro. So one evening while discussing how many times that we could actually afford to do invitro I asked Quinn at how many kids he would feel like our family was complete. Quinn looked at me and told me that he felt complete the moment we got married and any children that we would be blessed to have would be a bonus. Talk about being humbled. I have spent far to many nights thinking that we have been shorted in some way. I feel so blessed with what I have. If Lila is the only child to bless our home how lucky we have been the past 16 months to have her. How blessed I have been to be a mother at all.
And so tonight my angel and I are cuddled under a twinkling tree listening to beautiful Christmas music (Thanks Nikki) and I am feeling overwhelmed by my blessings and of feelings of peace. I feel like I am walking through Holland tonight and I am enjoying my tulips. You special needs moms will know what I mean....
Thanks Quinn for always giving me perspective.

Cousin Cuddle time

Quinn's sister Marissa called us today and said she was missing her Lila and to bring her over. So we tried out a new restaurant while the little lady spent time with her cousins. We came back to this. I thought it was so sweet. The iphone pic doesn't do it justice. Lila and her cousin Poppy were cuddling in her mama's bed.
We are so lucky that Lila's cousins treat her like she were just another normal kiddo in the family. How wonderful and loving children can be! We are so blessed.

cute beanie

I had to post this adorable beanie! Girls are so much fun! Little Miss looks so chic.

The Nutcracker

We went and saw the Nutcracker. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I loved it. Ballet West did a wonderful job. What a fun Christmas activity, it definitely got me into the holiday spirit!
We saw in the program that Ballet West does a performance before opening night for a special needs audience. How sweet. Maybe in a few years we will take little miss to it to enjoy the music.

sweet friends

These two have a special connection. Lila is lucky to have a cousin who loves her so unconditionally. All of her cousins are so sweet, but Gracie is especially infatuated.
Look how funny little Miss's hair is! I swear I try! But that tell tell Vici Mohawk just wont stay down.

festival of trees

I realize that the greens in this outfit don't really go together but I was trying to make her as "Christmasy" as possible.

Festival of Trees! I really was debating if I was going to go to the annual Primary Childrens hospital fundraiser this year. It is a bit too close to home these days. There are many many trees dedicated to wonderful angels who have passed on. But I didn't want to miss out on tradition just because of our circumstances. I did pretty well until one tree covered in butterflies was dedicated to a sweet little girl whose picture showed her cute wrist covered in bracelets. But I pulled it together and I am just glad that we still have Lila with us now. Someday we will do a tree in honor of Lila and try to give back to the sweet staff at Primarys.
