My constant companion

Today I just kept thinking over and over how grateful I am that Lila is still with me. I know that kind of goes without saying but for some reason today I was just struck with tons of gratitude. On this snowy day Lila and I cuddled and laughed and had such a great time together. She is my constant companion and my best little buddy. i have come to understand her personality so much more in the past few months, she is such a beautiful soul. I feel like we have a connection that can't be explained. I love how she smiles when she hears my voice, I love when I look back in the car and see her with me, I love when it gets real quiet she will sit and listen and then when she hears you break into a huge smile, I love that her laughs sometimes are huge full body movements, I love how she laughs when I laugh, and how she tries so desperately to turn her eyes to find me. I have wondered if I will still feel her with me after she is gone. I imagine that I will. How could someone be such a huge part of your soul and then just be gone? I've the feeling that she will always be my little constant companion.

Swim lessons

Today we had swim lessons with our sweet friends Mabel and Tiffany Sato. We had so much fun splashing and playing, kicking and laughing. I rarely see Lila laugh that hard.
I was so grateful to Tiffany for inviting us. Sometimes I think that we miss out on a lot of activities because I don't know how much Lila will get from them. I'm grateful that Tiffany got me out of my comfort zone though because we had such a wonderful time. I need to remember that Lila always surprises me. She understands so much more than I give her credit for sometimes.
It's always wonderful being around Mabel as well. She has that wonderful special-needs spirit like little miss. I just love to drink them in! I think Mabel can feel of Lila's spirit too because she gave her such a sweet little kiss at the end of the lesson.

Give thanks

This is the month to give thanks. I am grateful for so much but what it all comes down to is the people I love. I am grateful that I have them and even more grateful that I will have them again once this life is over.

Cirque du soleil

Thanks to Nikki and Callahan for inviting us to one of the most fun date nights we've had in a while. Cirque du soleil, great friends, yummy food and cotton candy. I felt like a kid again. Thanks!

Melt my heart

After work today I went and picked up Lila. She was laying on the floor with my mom enjoying lots of luvs. When I came over to pick her up I leaned down and gave her a kiss and told her hello. She got the biggest smile. It lasted quite a while and she kept trying to look in my direction. It was such a sweet moment for me. sometimes Lila can't show how much she loves her mom. But today I knew that she was excited that I had come back to pick her up. It completely melted my heart. I will never take for granted the moments where I know she knows I'm her mom. They are truly golden!

Happy Halloween!

Lila was the cutest little Giraffe.

Gracie and Lila were both Giraffes. They were so adorable. 

Lila's Giraffe horns were the talk of her costume. People kept asking me how I got them to stick straight up. Vici kids hair naturally sticks straight up. It comes in handy for Giraffe horns.
