Bittersweet

Today would have been Lila's first day of preschool. i find it surprising how much these milestones can still hurt after all these years. I would have loved to have gotten her in her back-to-school clothes, with her new backpack, and sent her off to meet new friends. I think little miss knew that I was feeling down. She has been laughing and smiling all morning. It is amazing how much that happens. Lila will always be smiley on the days that are more difficult. We will just have our own little preschool here, with her new best friend Ruby
