these two

As time keeps ticking along these two littles are starting to love each other more and more. Ruby asks to hold Eddie and he in return loves to kiss and hug her. I can't tell you what this does for a mama heart. To see your babies loving on each other is the sweetest thing. And yet even in these precious and beautiful moments there is that twinge of sadness that a joyful six year old girl is not in on the cuddles.  I am coming to terms with the fact that for the rest of my life every beautiful moment will be somewhat bittersweet. I can't wait till we are all together again.
So here is to a new year, new hope and to healing.

high school friends and hubbies

Over the holidays we got to meet up with my high school friends and their hubbies for dinner. It was so fun and not something that happens very often.

Christmas part two

On Christmas morning we woke up to a huge snowstorm. It was so beautiful! Just feet and feet of snow everywhere but that meant that we couldn't safely make it up the hill for christmas breakfast at grandma and grandpas so we had to postpone a day and meet the family for breakfast and presents the next day

christmas morning

Christmas morning 2016 was so fun. Ruby really got into it and was so excited for Santa to come. She was thrilled when she woke up to find all of the Christmas magic filling our home. Eddie was excited but mostly just along for the ride.

Daddy got the "dad toy" of the year in a nostalgic nintendo. In all reality he was the one who woke up at four am to stand in the hours long line in the cold. Way to go daddy!

The ball pit was a hit! Too bad it actually has a small leak and needs to be blown up every few hours!

And candy of course!
