Sisters
Lila has been so sick that I've been keeping the girls apart. Yesterday she seemed just good enough to meet her sister. As soon as I put Lila next Ruby she just started to laugh. I can't wait for these two girls to get to know each other
You may not be able to tell but Lila has her little side smile in this picture

First days at home.
It's been great to be home with my ladies. They are so beautiful and sweet. A bit if an adjustment. It doesn't help that my Lila is horribly ill again. I think that since stopping her antibiotics from last week her sickness had come back with a vengeance. She has been throwing up and having fevers. Not the best shape to meet your brand new baby sister.
I think ruby looks like Lila's baby pics in this photo.
Grandma Robyn told me that babies act so great in the hospital and the minute you get them home they start to act up. I think ruby heard her. Ruby was such a good little eater in the hospital and has decided to go on strike since being home. Stinker. She also has become a bit demanding. Maybe this is her little personality already. But she loves to be snuggled and we are happy to oblige. It's amazing the things she can already do. Her head control is incredible and she will stare right at us! She also brings her hands together (a goal of Lila's that we never obtained in early intervention) and sucks on fingers. Quinn and I are in awe of this. Lila could never even come close. It's been good for my heart to see signs of normal development. But I had a break down today when the pediatrician told us he wants ruby to see orthopedics for her foot (it's a bit turned in) I immediately thought maybe it was a sign of a syndrome. I guess the worrying never ends.

Ruby Quinn
We were so blessed in welcoming little Ruby Quinn into the world yesterday. Ruby is named for my two favorite people. Quinn and I wanted her to carry her sister with her in some way, since i don't know how much time they will actually get to spend together. A ruby is Lila's birthstone. We thought what a sweet name to honor her big sis!
I was induced at 7:30 in the morning and Ruby made her appearance at 3:44 in the afternoon. She came out screaming! Quinn and I were so excited. Lila only ever whimpered. She appears to be very healthy. It was such a neat experience. With grandma Patti, Quinn and aunt Kelli in the room. Kelli had hurried home from her vacation and got to the hospital just in time to see Ruby be born. We are grateful to the wonderful staff and for our doctor who made this possible. I am sure he is secretly glad that this pregnancy is over and all of my paranoid phone calls will stop. Now onto the pediatrician!
Love you Ruby! You have already made your mom and dad very very happy!

Here's Kristi's sad face (in jest) prior to all of the action.
Quinn was pacing for hours in the room and even left his mark on the white board above.

* These pictures were taken with Kelli's camera, and posted by Kelli. (I apologize that I did not get pics of any of the rest of visiting family members, since I left before anyone else arrived so that Quinn & Kristi could have time together with their new little girl. More pics will soon follow.) Congratulations Kristi & Quinn!!!
